HARRISBURG, PA – Brenda M. Alton will announce her candidacy today for the office of Lieutenant Governor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Alton will address supporters in the Rotunda of the Pennsylvania State Capitol Building at 501 North 3rd Street, Harrisburg, at 12:00 noon today to present her agenda for change.
According to Alton, citizens of Pennsylvania desire change in the policies, practices and programs of state government that leave most taxpaying members of the working class struggling to avoid poverty.
“It’s time for the Commonwealth to create access to adequate healthcare, affordable housing, educational opportunities and employment prospects for all 12 million Pennsylvania residents and not just the privileged among us,” said Alton.
With nearly two decades of experience in public service, Brenda Alton has served in numerous capacities throughout state and local government. Her proven track record of leadership places her in a position to advance an inclusive agenda that embraces all stakeholders in the future of the Commonwealth.
Her most recent role as Director of Parks, Recreation and Enrichment for the City of Harrisburg has given her insight into the universal needs of individuals, families and communities.
“Pennsylvanians deserve to thrive, not just to survive, even in our challenging economic climate,” declares Alton.
